Actor Deng Chao appears in crime fiction movie adaptation "City Lights"

Actor Deng Chao is in the spotlight again promoting a new crime fiction movie adaptation of "City Lights" in Beijing.

Deng Chao plays a policeman, Fang Mu, who has a strong sense of justice. In the upcoming film, Deng is pitted against a freaky criminal, Jiang Ya, played by Ethan Juan.

Deng Chao spoke about the role to the media: "I fight with wisdom and courage against the character played by Ethan Juan. Both of us got too involved and we wanted to avoid meeting each other even during breaks in a hotel. I dared not look into his eyes, that are so sharp like a knife."

The movie is an adaptation of a Lei Mi work, in the Criminal Minds series. His psychological thrillers have attracted a massive fan base online.

No fixed release date was given at the promotional event.
