Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has won a lawsuit over infringement of her portrait rights, and the star says she will donate the 150,000 yuan in compensation she will receive to charity.

The defendant in the case, a Chinese media company named Doulang, was found guilty of altering a video of Fan Bingbing's appearance at a promotional event without consent.

The promotional text in the clip was altered to show the company name of Doulang, which led to an impression that Fan Bingbing was promoting the company.

The actress will receive 150,000 yuan in compensation from the case, or roughly 21,000 US dollars.

Fan Bingbing says she will donate all the money to the Heart Ali project, which funds treatment for children with congenial heart conditions in Tibet.

Fan is one of the founders of the project.
