A cuisine-inspired comedy film The One is rescheduled to hit theatres around China this July.

Veteran Chinese singer Cai Guoqing plays a villain in the movie. But with a sense of humor, he complains that he was mistreated during filming.

"I'm very careful with my acting. About two years ago, I acted in a movie in which Zhang Ziyi was the female lead. I repeated one scene a dozen times then. In my new film The One, there's one scene that demands me singing and dancing, which I'm very good at. However, director Lu Zhenyu is so picky that he'd even demand that I repeat the same act for a total of 16 times."

Fan Wei, a Chinese sitcom and film actor, who has a part in the film, agrees Lu Zhengyu attends to details a lot and is very strict, which gives him a lot of pressure.

In addition to Fan Wei and Cai Guoqing, Chinese American actress Joan Chen and her 14-year old daughter will also star in the movie.

The One centers on a punk character named Lu Xiaoyu who changes to become a man of ambition after he discovers his super skills from a number of chefs in making delicious meals.

Originally, the film release had been slated for January this year, however that did not happen. It was announced on Thursday during a press conference held in Beijing that the movie had been rescheduled to hit theatres on July 7.
