Hong Kong singer Sandy Lam won the finale of the mainland variety show "Singer" on Sunday.
Though the 51-year-old has received countless awards during her career, the singer was still too excited to control her tears when garnering the title of "Vocal King"
Lam said she didn't expect to get through to the top 3 competitors as all participating singers are actually "vocal kings".
The candidates for the ultimate winner along Lam include Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen, Taiwan band Lion, and mainland singer Li Jian, all of whom have shown their qualifications for the title during previous episodes.
Lam said she felt gratitude to pop singer Chang Hui-mei, who in spite of suffering from tracheitis came to the final competition for Lam and joined her singing "Tomorrow Maybe", which helped Lam win it all.
Chang will have a concert in Beijing on May 20 and 21.
