Chinese thriller The Liquidator to hit screens in September

Chinese suspense crime film ‘The Liquidator’ has been given a release date of September 30 this year.

It tells the story of a series of murders carried out by a self-styled vigilante called Jiang Ya, who takes it upon himself to clean up the city and kill criminals. 

The movie stars veteran actor Deng Chao as a policeman, Fang Mu, who is tasked with tracking down a murderer, with the help of a forensic fingerprint expert, Mi Nan, played by Cecilia Liu.

Written by Lei Mi, ‘The Liquidator’ also stars actor Ethan Juan who plays the vigilante Jiang Ya, Guo Jingfei and veteran actress Karena Lam. 

The screenplay is based on the novel ‘Evil Minds: City Light’ written by Lei Mi, who also has a cameo role in the movie.

Deng’s role in the 2015 film ‘The Dead End’ was also a police officer, he told a publicity event in Beijing that the two characters are actually quite different.
