The Chinese capital Beijing will witness "snow" this summer. However this is not a weather forecast, but a stage comedy show that will "drop" in Beijing, as announced in a recent newsletter from the Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center.
The center will soon provide stages for Slava's Snowshow, created by Russian Master Clown legend Slava Polunin.
Slava's Snowshow is a stunning spectacle of beautifully crafted theatrical clowning, combining the unbridled silliness of slapstick with visual extravagance and beauty.
The show reaches its climax when a snow-globe world opens up into the auditorium with white paper snowflakes.
The Snowshow was born in 1993 and has never stopped touring the world since.
It has been performed in hundreds of cities for millions of people.
Over the years, the show itself, as well as its creator, has been presented with approximately 20 of the world's most prestigious theatrical awards, including the Lawrence Olivier, Drama Desk, Triumph and Golden Nose awards.
Slava's Snowshow is due to arrive at Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center starting from August 30th. It will continue to play there until the 3rd of September.
