Famous German violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann and his young son are set to perform a concert this Sunday evening to open this year's Beijing Music Festival.
The Beijing concert will be Zimmermann's first-ever experience in collaborating with a Chinese orchestra.
He is due to play classic pieces by Beethoven and Bach.
The musician says he and his son are feeling happy and relaxed ahead of the performance.
"Of course, there are stages you've to go through. But once you get over this and you relax yourself, this is what we work with musicians tomorrow, our colleagues from the China Philharmonic Orchestra. We really get into this kind of nirvana or Zen spirit, and then the effect of this music comes out the best. I'm looking forward to having a wonderful performance on Sunday, together with my great friend, with a wonderful orchestra and with my son."
Zimmermann has performed with all the major orchestras in the world.
The Beijing Music Festival is marking its 20th anniversary this year.
The event runs until the end of this month.
