New BBC crime drama coming to Chinese screens
The show is based on a book by Misha Glenny written ten years ago.
A hit BBC crime drama will be broadcast in China following the signing of a licence agreement.
Over the past few months an increasing number of British television drama series have been sold to China. The latest of these is the extremely popular crime drama ‘McMafia’.

The eight part series starring James Norton, David Strathairn and Juliet Rylance will be broadcast in China through local IPTV service providers OPG and Youku, entitled ‘The Godmans’.
During the past three months BBC Worldwide have sold nearly 580 hours of television to Asian broadcasters.
Paul Dempsey, president of global markets at BBC Worldwide says: “International demand for British drama is incredibly strong because audiences know they will be treated to compelling stories expertly told. We’ve got world-class acting and production talent, and our writers are on another level.”
The show has received excellent reviews from audiences and critics alike.

The story follows Alex Godman, the English-raised son of mafia exiles, who has spent his life trying to escape the shadow of their past, building his own legitimate business and forging a life with his girlfriend, Rebecca.
But when a murder unearths his family's past, Alex is drawn into the criminal underworld where he must confront his values to protect those he loves.
