An up-and-coming Chinese sculptor, Qin Weihong, has opened a new exhibition in Beijing, showcasing his latest endeavors -- sculptures of pink pigs.
Titled "Qin Weihong's Sculpture Kingdom," the young sculptor's exhibition is on display at Parkview Green in Beijing.
Asked why he has chosen pigs as his muse, Qin Weihong decided to remain somewhat cryptic.
"After all the ups and downs, I began to reflect on what is happiness. Different experiences lead to different understandings of happiness. To me, happiness is nothing more than leading a simple but healthy life with people you care about and doing a job that you enjoy."
"Qin Weihong's Sculpture Kingdom" will be on display at the Parkview Green until June 30th.
Graduating in 2010 from the Sculpture Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, Qin Weihong put on his first solo exhibition at the Today Art Museum in Beijing in 2012.
Since then he's been featured at a number of top-level national and international exhibitions, including the Art Basel, the London Art Fair, the Armory Show, Art Beijing and more.
His work has also been featured in the New York Times Style Magazine and Harper's Bazaar.
