Film critics say the new 3D film has a brisk narrative pace, which combines the tension of an adventure legend with a lighthearted comedy style.
About four decades ago, the story of Afanti, a popular folk hero in Xinjiang, enjoyed a high level of popularity among children in China, and the character appeared quite often in Cartoons and books. The story of Afanti was also among the very first cartoon series in China.
