Famous car designer Chris Bangle unveils new REDSPACE car in China

World-famous car designer Chris Bangle has recently showcased his newly-designed REDSPACE car at a fashion event in Beijing.

"We think it matches the lifestyle of people who need to live in cities like this and who enjoy their time with themselves, their families and their friends. Instead, it's your space to define, and we think that a city like Beijing or any megacity, it's the best spot to appreciate a car like this. The fashion week of Beijing is very, very important and its lifestyle in Beijing and that is what our cars are about. And we would like people to see for the first time in this type of event where they understand that is about true fashion, lifestyle and not just automobile."

The REDSPACE electric city four-passenger car is targeted toward young career professionals who live in China's megacities. In addition to conventional battery charging, the car will also get a roof-mounted solar panel – the latest in its class.

Works from 7 different designers from China and abroad were shown at the "Night of Fashion Beijing" on the weekend, fusing traditional Chinese aesthetics into haute couture as well as demonstrating how fashion and technology can combine.

Other designers include Laurence XU, one of the most famous Chinese fashion designers, who's favored by many Chinese actors and actresses at Red-Carpet events, as well as Mary Ma, a well-known super model who later founded her own fashion brand.
