McGowan made the remarks on the Swedish talk show "Skavlan."

"I lived there; I know these people. I was there. I was there. I lived with it every day, and I know who knew, and I know it was the majority, and it was just considered, like, 'Oh, she's an actress. She wore a short skirt. She deserved it. That's the prevailing wisdom in a lot of industries, but very particularly that one - to which I thought, 'No. I wore pants that day, and nobody deserves it", McGowan said.

McGowan accused Harvey Weinstein of raping her, and has been a major figure in the #MeToo movement.

Weinstein has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.

The Skavlan show airs Friday evenings in Norway and Sweden.
