Chinese internet users have been using photoshop to have fun with the huge popularity of the new "Aquaman" film, turning veteran Chinese actor Xu Jinjiang into the DC Comics superhero.

This isn't the first time Xu Jinjiang has been superimposed on a superhero, with internet users grafting his face over that of Chris Hemsworth, who plays "Thor" in the Marvel universe.

Warner Bros. released "Aquaman" in China on December 7th, two weeks before the action adventure's premiere in North America. As of December 16, the cumulative box office across the Chinese mainland has exceeded 1.2 billion yuan (about 174 million U.S. dollars), reports Sina News.

Lead actor Jason Momoa has become a major draw in China. This has prompted numerous online discussions, including how Momoa's beard is similar to that of Xu Jinjiang.

The meme has prompted comment from Xu Jinjiang, with the 30 year acting veteran suggesting that he does see certian similarities with himself at certian angles, but admits he doesn't quite have the same physique as Mamoa, who rose to fame for playing a massive warrior on the hit TV drama "Game of Thrones."
