Movies to look forward to in 2019
This year was a landmark year for movie fans, but next year will also be full of blockbusters and future classics.
The most anticipated movie for some is Brie Larson's launch into the Marvel universe as the title character in "Captain Marvel," released worldwide in March.
Empire Magazine Chief Editor Terri White says another highly-anticipated superhero offering is the fourth and final Avengers movie in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe, "Avengers: Endgame," directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.

"I think there's two massive cinema moments we know about in 2019, of which is 'Avengers 4,' which we know very little about at the moment and we probably won't know a great deal more until it comes out in cinemas. I think particularly within Marvel, we're going to see more kind of issues of representation and diversity actually tackled in a really positive way. And I think 'Captain Marvel' is going to be huge."
Characters including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) return for potentially the last time in their current iteration.
"Avengers: Endgame" will hit theaters worldwide in April.
White says there are two more Disney blockbusters to look forward to next year.
"I think realistically, I think Disney owns so many hugely successful franchises. You know, they've got the big things like 'The Lion King,' 'Toy Story 4' is already getting so much buzz and that's before you even start talking about Lucasfilm and 'Star Wars' and the Marvel Universe."
The remake of "The Lion King" stars Donald Glover as future king Simba and Beyoncé as Simba's friend-turned-love interest Nala.
"The Lion King" will be released in July.
Eight years since their last adventure, Buzz, Woody and the rest of the "Toy Story" gang return in the long-awaited fourth film in the series, to be released in June.
