Filmmakers of "The Lord of the Rings" have a new offering, "Mortal Engines", a sci-fi fantasy film will be released in Chinese theatres on Jan. 18.
In this film, nations don't exist and enormous moving metropolises destroy smaller towns to obtain their resources. London is one of these predator cities on wheels devouring everything in its path.
In order to enliven the city-eat-city war, the filmmakers set up over 70 scenes and built London into a 2.5-kilometer long, 1.5-kilometer wide and 860-meter high construction. The interior design contains several local London landmark buildings.
The upcoming fantasy epic film is produced by "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy writer-director-producer Peter Jackson.
