A new children's play called "Titanic" will go on stage in Beijing in mid-January.
Unlike the romance and disaster story depicted in the film with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, the new play tells the tale of cats and mice uniting in their struggle for survival after their ship hits the iceberg. It aims to impress upon young audiences the importance of friendship and close family ties.
The new play is one of 15 that will be staged from now through to the Chinese Lunar New Year and Spring Festival at the China National Theater for Children.
Another performance to look out for is a retelling of the Chinese classic novel "The Journey to the West", which brings together human actors and puppet performers on stage.
