Screenwriter and film producer Peter Jackson, who is mostly known now for "The Lord of the Rings" epics, recently disclosed there is a war goddess-like character in his new sci-fi fantasy production "Mortal Engines".
"Miss Shaw is an outcast. She's an orphan. She was left for dead. Now all she wants is revenge. She's not your typical hero. But the story becomes bigger than her revenge."
"Mortal Engines" described how mankind has adapted a new way of living in the cities on wheels, thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event.
In the film, Hester Shaw is a mysterious young woman, who emerges as the only one who can stop London - now a giant, predator city on wheels - from devouring everything in its path.
Hera Hilmar portrays Hester Shaw, and her costar is Robert Sheehan, who teamed up with the war goddess aimed to change the course of the future.
"Mortal Engines" is due out in Chinese cinemas Jan 18.
