Chinese singer Lay Zhang invited to attend the 61st Grammy Awards

Chinese singer Zhang Yixing, or Lay Zhang, will reportedly attend the red carpet and live ceremony of the 61st Grammy Awards at an official invitation.

The EXO member's presence was announced Wednesday on Sina Weibo by the China Music Vision, the exclusive partner of The Recording Academy in the Greater China for GRAMMY-branded entertainment and educational initiatives.

According to the announcement, Zhang constitutes the only artist who has received an invitation from China Music Vision and FM101, and he will attend the event as FM101's music ambassador.

Zhang was named the Promotion Ambassador for The GRAMMY Festival China in April 2018.

The 61st Grammy Awards will be held on February 10, 2019, at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
