Eduard Van Kleunen is with the Embassy of Belgium in China.

"Tintin offers us all dreams. That's, a large sense, due to his travels all over the world, which fascinates all the readers: young readers, old readers. They can discover faraway countries. They can travel, and also in a pursuit for the truth and for certain values. So I think it's a very good event today to put it into our attention, and to promote Tintin in China and also all over the world."

The Adventures of Tintin is a series of comics created by Belgian cartoonist Georges Remi. The series first appeared in French in a Belgian newspaper in January 1929.

The first set of 22 Tintin books was introduced into China in 2001. The China Children's Press and Publication Group selected eight of them and promoted it during the event.
