Jake Gyllenhaal plays supervillain Mysterio in new 'Spider-Man'

Comic book fans have had their first glimpse of Spider-Man supervillain Mysterio in the trailer for action sequel, "Spider-Man: Far From Home."

Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Quentin Beck, a.k.a. Mysterio, with the promo clip showing off the character's full costume and iconic fishbowl helmet.

The movie sees Peter "Spider-Man" Parker (Tom Holland) embark on a European vacation. However, Peter's holiday plans come undone when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent.

"Spider-Man: Far From Home" swings into theaters worldwide from July 5.
