Chinese actress Huo Siyan (霍思燕) has contributed her voice to director Charles Martin Smith's film "A Dog's Way Home," which is to be released in Chinese cinemas on Friday (Jan 18).
She is the voice of Bella, a stray dog that has been living with some stray cats, before an animal-loving guy named Lucas shelters her.
In the original English-speaking film, Bella's inner dialogue is provided by Bryce Dallas Howard.
Adapted from a best-selling book of the same name, "A Dog's Way Home" tells a story about the loyalty of a dog, especially after getting separated from her beloved owner.
The plot follows Bella through the wilderness as she encounters a variety of animals and humans and life-threatening situations.
In addition, the lead role of Bella was played by two dogs that were rescued by the production team.
