"Can You Ever Forgive Me?" received three Oscar nominations, two for acting for Melissa McCarthy and Richard E. Grant, and one for best adapted screenplay.

The film follows the true story of writer Lee Israel, who turns to forging famous literary letters and selling them for vast sums of money when her writing career takes a downturn.

"I think that Lee certainly doesn't want to be liked and I remember even when I first read the script, I was delighted and a bit confused. About a quarter of the way in, I thought, 'I like her very, very much and yet I can't put my finger on one thing or one reason why,'" said McCarthy.

"Can You Ever Forgive Me?" is out in U.K. and Ireland on February 1.
