Magic Mike the Musical to Premiere in Boston Prior to Broadway

The producers of 'Magic Mike the Musical' recently announced the stage show will premiere in Boston this fall prior to a Broadway engagement.

The musical, based on a film by the same name, tells a story about a dancing boy called Mike at a night club that is loosely based on Channing Tatum's early days.

Channing Tatum is among the producers of this new musical.

Lyricist Brian Yorkey hinted the musical will be focused more on Tatum's life than the movies did. "It's the story of how Mike became Magic Mike and how he got his name, which really is based on Channing's stories".

The musical will also feature Mike's girlfriend and her sorority sisters at the top of act two.

The musical will be shown in Boston on Nov. 30. The world-premiere production will play through Jan. 5, 2020.
