Oscars producer Glenn Weiss say viewers won't miss having a host, promising a fast-paced show filled with musical moments.

Performances from Queen, Bette Midler and others will liven up Sunday's show.

Weiss said he isn't lamenting the Oscars' lack of a host this year.

"We are going to put on a show which is going to keep moving. There's going to be entertainment all the way through. There's going to be all sorts of things paced out throughout the show. You're not going to miss it. It's great on shows that have one, and I think the show is going to move along fine".

He said the opening performance would be "full of energy, it's going to be full of excitement."

Bradley Cooper has promised a "unique" and "raw" performance of "Shallow" from "A Star Is Born," and Midler will be singing "The Place Where Lost Things Go" from "Mary Poppins Returns."

Producers reversed an initial plan to streamline the show by presenting some categories during commercial breaks, but they were still hoping winners kept speeches under 90 seconds to help trim the telecast.

The Oscars are Sunday evening, airing live on ABC in the U.S.
