Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan, among CPPCC members offering up proposals for lawmakers in Beijing as part of the CPPCC sessions, has told reporters that he intends to continue championing a proposal on poverty alleviation.

Chan launched a charity campaign last year including various entertainers including Chen Kun, Zhou Xun and Wu Jing. They are promising help with poverty alleviation in 30 impoverished counties across China.

Jackie Chan says he and his colleagues intend to continue the campaign this year. He's putting forward the program as part of his proposals to annual session of China's top political advisory body, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
