Marvel Studios' much-anticipated superhero blockbuster "Avengers: Endgame" has already earned a place in the record books in China, breaking the record for advanced ticket sales ahead of its debut in China on Wednesday.
What's being billed as the final film in the so-called "Infinity" offshoot by Marvel, "Avengers: Endgame" has pulled in around 500 million yuan ($75 million US dollars) in pre-sales, according to Chinese film ticket app Maoyan.
This puts "Endgame" ahead of previous pre-sale records set by other superhero hits in China, such as "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Venom."
The Wednesday debut of "Avengers: Endgame" comes two days before the film will hit theatres in the United States.
"Avengers: Endgame" is just the second Hollywood film to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. Film goers who choose to watch "Endgame" in IMAX theatres are going to see around 25% more of the film's backdrop than those who watch the film in a standard theatre.
