Actress Gong Li receives Women In Motion Award

Actress Gong Li was honored with the Cannes Film Festival's Women in Motion award Sunday night (19 MAY 2019).

The Chinese actress is the first person of Asian descent to win the annual prize - which celebrates the careers of leading women in cinema.

The star was presented with the award by the chairman and CEO of the Kering Group, which hosted the event.

Gong Li has a long history with the Cannes Film Festival. She starred in "Farewell My Concubine," which won the Palme d'Or in 1993, and was a member of the jury at the 50th Cannes Film Festival.
