New X-Men installment hits Chinese cinemas

The new X-Men installment is hitting Chinese theatres today.

Earlier, Dark Phoenix stars arrived in Beijing, promoting their film together. Michael Fassbender was among them.

He described the relationship between his character "Erik" and James McAvoy's Professor "Charles" Xavier.

"For me, I see that Charles is Eric's best friend, perhaps his only friend really. Yeah, I think they get tired of one another and they get frustrated because their ideologies are so different, even though you know their objectives are the same, which is the betterment for their people. Um, in times of crisis, I feel like they will always be there, um, for one another, even if everyone else dissipates that they'll be there."

In Dark Phoenix, the X-Men will face their most formidable and powerful foe. In celebration of X-Men Day, IMAX has announced that it will hold showings of Dark Phoenix on June 6th.

The release of new X-Men installment in China is one day before the U.S. release.
