Three "Belt and Road Film Night" Awards Announced

The Belt and Road Film Night was held at the Walt Disney Grand Theater in Shanghai last night. It's the awards ceremony for the Belt and Road Film Week.

The theme of the film week" is 'The Light and Life'.

24 films from 24 countries have been shown. 8 films were nominated for awards - the "Audience Choice Award," the "Media Choice Award for Films," and the "Media Choice Award for Filmmakers."

The "Media Choice Award for Filmmakers" went to the Hungarian director of "Genesis" and Chinese director Wang Lina for her film "A First Farewell".

Wang talked about her film in her acceptance speech.

"The film is a poem I dedicated to my hometown and childhood. The children in the play and I are all derived from that land. So when I was shooting the film, I hope that I can present as authentically as possible the impression of nature and the imprint of time."

"Media Choice Award for Film" goes to "Crystal Swan" from Belarus.

Russian film "The Sun Above Me Never Sets" took home both "Media Choice Award for Film" and "Audience Choice Award."

Through the medium of film, the event aims to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between countries in production, coproduction and distribution of films.
