Song Hye-kyo, Song Joong-ki taking legal steps for divorce

South Korean star couple Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki are filing for divorce, just two years after their marriage.

South Korean star couple Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki are headed toward a divorce, just two years after their marriage, June 27, 2019.

A law firm representing actor Song Joong-ki has filed for court mediation in his divorce petition from the actress Song Hye-kyo.

"Rather than criticizing one another and arguing over who is to blame, both of us hope that the divorce process can be wrapped up smoothly," said Song Joong-ki in a statement. "I will try to recover from the wounds and do my best to repay you through good productions as an actor," he added in a messate to his fans.

The two actors, known as the Song-Song couple, met while filming the TV drama "Descendants of the Sun" in 2016. They tied the knot in October 2017.
