South Korean girl group I.O.I announce reunion

South Korean girl group I.O.I, or Ideal of Idol, will reunite, they confirmed to fans via social media.

Nine of the girl group's original members will reunite under the name I.O.I, but Jeon Somi and Yoo Yeonjung will not rejoin.

The group was formed by CJ E&M on the 2016 reality show "Produce 101 on Mnet," and was originally made up of 11 members from various entertainment companies.

I.O.I disbanded in 2017 and returned to their jobs.
