The Snow Queen: Mirrorlands, the fourth installment in the popular Russian animated franchise, is due to open in Chinese theaters early next month.

Directed by Aleksei Tsitsilin and Robert Lence, the film is described as "a collision of science and magic, progress and fairytale," and cost more to produce than all three previous movies, according to reports.

According to cartoonbrew.com, the series has been seen in 150 countries and translated into 30 languages, generating nearly 100 million U.S. dollars in global box office revenue.

The first installment, The Snow Queen, was released in 2012.
