The original movie told the story of Disney's most notorious villain and the events that drove her to curse baby Princess Aurora (Elle Fanning) to eternal sleep - before eventually learning to love the young girl.
Now, in the first full-length trailer for the sequel released Monday (8 JULY 2019), fans got a glimpse of the latest episode in the story, which sees Maleficent and Michelle Pfeiffer's Queen Ingrith face off in a maternal battle for Aurora's affections.
Directed by Joachim Ronning ("Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales"), the movie sees the return of Jolie, Fanning, and Lesley Manville, with Pfeiffer, Ed Skrein and Chiwetel Ejiofor joining the cast.
"Maleficent: Mistress of Evil" is set for release October 18.
