Starring Chinese actors Huang Xiaoming and Du Jiang, and actress Tan Zhuo, the film is adapted from a long report based on an oil-pipe explosion incident in Dalian, Liaoning Province, in 2010. It tells of a fire brigade chief and his team members' fight for people's safety as fire and an ensuing explosion hit a coastal oil-tank area.
The film will be the first in Chinese movie history in which firefighters as a group are in the spotlight.
Director Tony Chan says that to present the firefighters' lives and duties in a realistic way, he interviewed a lot of firefighters who participated in the rescue work during the incident.
