A series of activities will be held at the 29th National Book Expo to promote reading among the public.

These activities include the demonstration of achievements in the publishing business, the sales of books and transactions of copyrights, as well as several seminars and reading promotions.

The 29th National Book Expo kicked off in Xi'an. Participating were more than 1,200 exhibitors from all over China.

Xu Min is with the executive committee of the 29th National Book Expo:

"It is an all-time high in terms of the number of exhibitors and booksellers, the exhibition area and the activities"

Apart from the main venue in Xi'an City, the expo has two sub-venues in the city of Yan'an and the city of Tongchuan.
