Legendary actor George Hamilton says he has always steered clear of politics in real life and has never exercised his right to vote.

The 80-year-old made the comments to the Hollywood Reporter during an interview on Friday. The actor plays a former House member in the 2016 film "The Congressman".

Hamilton says he believes that it's irresponsible for actors to share their opinions on political issues, because entertainers "have no qualifications." "A lot of young actors do it and they shouldn't," he said. "The political (people) are happy to use your persona."
