Brad Pitt arrives for Venice press conference of 'Ad Astra'

Brad Pitt brought interstellar star power to the Venice International Film Festival Thursday (29 AUGUST 2019), arriving by boat to promote his new movie "Ad Astra."

The sci-fi epic, directed by James Gray ("The Lost City of Z"), stars Pitt as astronaut Roy McBride, who journeys to the outer reaches of the solar system to search for his missing father, Clifford (Tommy Lee Jones).

Pitt was joined on the jetty by co-stars Liv Tyler, and Ruth Negga.

"Ad Astra" is one of 21 films competing for the festival's top prize, the Golden Lion.

The 76th Venice International Film Festival runs until September 7th.
