4K restoration of "The Legend of 1900" due out in China next month

The Oscar-winning film "The Legend of 1900" will be released in cinemas in China on November 15, according to the China Film Group Corporation.

The film tells the story of a baby found abandoned on an ocean liner by one of the ship's crew.

Although it was made in 1998, the film's upcoming release is its first in China. Audiences will be treated to a 4K restored version of the film.

On social media, China's movie fans have shared their excitement about the upcoming release by searching out and sharing movie reviews published by overseas audiences decades ago.
