The legendary Argentinian footballer Diego Maradona has announced that his next career will be in China.

On his personal Instagram page, the 56-year-old retired football superstar posted the message "Thank you very much Ms. Tang Qinghui for this opportunity you are giving me to work in China, I will be eternally grateful!" in English, Italian and Spanish.

There's a picture of Maradona holding a Chinese national flag standing with Tang Qinghui. According to Argentinian media reports, Tang is a Chinese Argentinian and president of Maradona International Brand Management (Beijing) Ltd., and has been working on developing football communications between Argentina and China.

Maradona's lawyer Matias Morla said that there are still various procedures to go through, but his client is very excited about different possibilities ahead in China.

He added that Maradona will guide and train young players at different schools in China, which in the long run will make a big difference to Chinese football.

According to an Italian media report, Maradona will also take on the role of ambassador for the Chinese Super League.

Maradona coached Argentina's national football team between 2008 and 2010, but was fired after Argentina was knocked out of the World Cup held in South Africa.

The Argentinian had previously stated, in February this year, that he would work for FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) to make it a more transparent and cleaner football organization.
