Fu Yuanhui wins silver in 50m backstroke

Fu Yuanhui had to settle for second place in the women's 50 meter backstroke final at the Swimming World Championships. 

Fu was only one hundredth of a second slower than Brazil's Etiene Medeiros. 

The other Chinese swimmer Wang Xue'er finished 6th. 

Earlier, in men's 200 meter medley, Wang Shun won a bronze medal for China.

The Chinese team finished the women's 4 by 200 meter freestyle final behind the United States for silver medals. 

New 100 meter backstroke world champion Xu Jiayu topped the qualifiers and reached the 200 meter competition. 

Shi Jinglin will be competing for a medal in women's 200 meter breaststroke.
