China's Chen reaches women's last eight at badminton worlds

China's Chen Yufei stunned top seed Akane Yamaguchi of Japan to reach the women's singles quarterfinals at the World Badminton Championships in Glasgow, UK, on Thursday. 

The 19-year-old Chen, who won her first major title at last year's world junior championships, beat the 20-year-old Japanese world No. 2 21-18, 21-19. 

She will next take on either Thailand's eighth seed Ratchanok Intanon or teammate Chen Xiaoxin, the 14th seed, in the quarterfinals.
