The 2018 ISA World Longboard Surfing Championship concluded at RiYue Wan (or Sun and Moon Bay) in Wanning city, South China's Hainan Province on Thursday.
The United States came as the biggest winner, winning the men's and women's world longboard surfing and the team competition.
The top three of men's world longboard surfing are Kai Sallas of the United States, Benoit Clemente of Peru and Tony Silvagin also from the United States.
The top three of women's world longboard surfing are Tory Gilkerson of the United States, Chloe Calmon of Brazil and Honolua Blomfield also from the United States.
The 4-member Chinese team ranked the 13th in the 23 teams.
"The Chinese players have already improved a lot," said Ma Fulai, the leader of the Chinese team.
"We have seen the gap between our team and the powerhouse of surfing," Ma said.
"The sport of surfing has made tremendous progress in China these years, and I believe Chinese players will shine on the world's stage in the near future," said Robert Fasulo, executive director of ISA.
