ISU World Sprint Speed Skating Championships kicks off in China

The ISU World Sprint Speed Skating Championships 2018 reeled off in Changchun on Saturday, attracting some 60 athletes from 15 countries and regions.

The two-day championships features four events of men's and women's 500m and 1,000m, and the individual all-around champions will be decided through the two events they participate in.

The Chinese squad is being led by Gao Tingyu, the bronze medalist in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and veteran Yu Jing.

Other big stars competing in the championship include Pyeongchang Winter Olympic champions Nao Kodaira, Jorien Ter Mors and Havard Holmefijord Lorentzen.
