Recently retired basketball great Stephon Marbury has revealed the launch of his own e-sports team.

The CBA great has made the revelation while attending the "NBA 2K Online 2" Northern Regional Final, which was held at the Wukesong Stadium in Beijing on Sunday, October 14, 2018. "NBA2KOL2" is a product of Chinese online firm Tencent.

Marbury revealed he has launched his own e-sports team while working as a commentator for the e-sports competition. He also teamed up with other guests to play "NBA 2K Online 2" himself.

Marbury, a former NBA All-Star, is a household name in China. He played in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) from 2010 to 2018, winning three CBA championships with the Beijing Ducks in 2012, 2014 and 2015. Wukesong Stadium, where the weekend e-sports competition was held, is home to a life-size bronze statue of Marbury.
