Conmebol president Alejandro Dominguez said: "We have the obligation to set a new date - pending the decision from the Disciplinary Committee. With this obligation, we have taken the decision that the match - if played, let me be clear - will be played on Saturday 8th or Sunday 9th of December outside Argentinian territory."

Saturday's game was initially delayed until Sunday after River Plate supporters attacked the Boca Juniors team bus.

As a result, at least six players were injured, including Boca captain Pablo Perez.

The statement added that Conmebol would co-ordinate security with authorities before the rearranged fixture.

Paraguay, Brazil and Italy have all offered to hold the match.

The first leg of the final ended 2-2.
