China's Ding crashes out at UK Snooker Championship

China's world number-eight Ding Junhui suffered a surprise 6-4 defeat to Englishman Martin O'Donnell in the round of 16 at the UK Snooker Championship.

Two time tournament winner Ding was in a 3-2 lead midway through the game, but slipped in the next three frames to go 3-5 behind and finally lost.

32-year-old O'Donnell described his victory as the biggest of his career.

The world number 59 has secured at least 22,500 pounds of prize money and a quarterfinal showdown against defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan on Saturday.

Meantime former champion Judd Trump was also knocked out, losing 6-4 to Joe Perry.

Perry will play Tom Ford in the last 8.
