It's the third consecutive defeat for the Chinese national team to start out the tournament, following previous losses to Japan and defending champions Sweden.
Skip Zou Qiang admits his squad still has a lot to learn. "We get used to the venue now. Our opponents in previous matches are more experienced and they did a better job. However, we are still optimistic as we have better teamwork now than before," said Zou.
China is set to take on Italy and South Korea on Tuesday.
China currently ranks in 10th among the 13 teams in the competition.
Canada, Sweden and Japan currently top the standings at 4-0.
