Wu Lei wins his first overseas award after joining Spanish soccer club
Chinese striker Wu Lei is to be recognized by the World Soccer Congress (WSC), which is scheduled to take place in Barcelona from April 12 to 13.
The announcement was made on the WSC website. The WSC brings together football professionals from around the world to discuss the sport.

During the event, the WSC also awards outstanding personalities in the sport, and this year Wu has been named as one of the recipients of the award.
This will be Wu's first overseas award since joining Spanish outfit RCD Espanyol in January.
Over the past two months, Wu has been named in the starting line-up for Espanyol five times, and has one goal and one assist to his name.

The goal, the first by a Chinese player in La Liga, was highly celebrated by sport fans in China who have been keenly following Wu's progress since he joined the club.
Wu's first game on the pitch for Espanyol reportedly drew over 40 million viewers in China.
