Former Sunderland and Wales head coach Chris Coleman has been sacked by Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune, the club announced on Wednesday.

In a statement, Hebei thanked Coleman for his effort and contributions and wished him well in the future.

The 48-year-old Welshman took the helm of Hebei last June, replacing current West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini.

But Hebei struggled under Coleman this season and currently sit second to last in the CSL on five points with just one league win and two draws against six defeats.

Assistant coach Xie Feng will take over as caretaker manager.
