The video features Modi as an animated cartoon figure demonstrating a specific yoga pose, tadasana, also known as the palm tree posture. The animated Modi is wearing a blue top and black pants, standing on a yoga mat in bare feet, explaining the yoga pose. The video also illustrates his poses as he moves and explains how this particular exercise contributes to physical health and mental balance.

Modi's contribution to yoga is being lauded by many online in India. However, the naysayers consider Modi's video a "publicity stunt."
The UN declared June 21 International Yoga Day in 2015 at Modi's suggestion. The Prime Minister has participated in several public yoga events in India.
